Manuscripts of the Lombard Laws

The following pages presents an overview of a selection of manuscripts containing copies of various versions of the Lombard laws. Currently, the manuscripts are divided into the different versions of the Lombard Laws (Edictus Langobardorum, Liber Legum, Liber Papiensis and the Lombarda), and within those headings in the approximate data order of their production. Links are given to digital images, where they are freely available online, and, where I have produced a draft description of the manuscript, it may be downloaded as a PDF.

    Dear Mr. Gobbitt,
thank you for the information shared on your blog! It is really helpful and interesting! I wanted to suggest that you could use a little date stamp for the list of manuscripts too, so that the user knows, when the page was last updated (mainly the year and month are important). This would facilitate citing, if a researcher wants to mention a post from your blog in his or her publication 😉

    Greetings,
    Alina O.

      Dear Alina!
Thanks for the message and the kind words, I’m glad it has proven a useful resource. I’ve been a bit slow on updating of late, both on the blog front and the listing… The individual draft manuscript descriptions have year and, usually month also included in the administrative information, but I’ll add in a ‘last updated’ to the main list when I get chance, yes!
